Mouth of the Winooski River route visits a string of parks and trails along the Winooski River, between Williston and the shores of Lake Champlain in Burlington. A bike loop can be made by combining this route with the Cross Vermont Trail route.

Description

Visit over a dozen parks, natural areas and trails along this route, including Ethan Allen's homestead, Winooski Gorge Natural Area, and Intervale. Upon reaching Lake Champlain, head north on the Island Line Trail to the mouth of the Winooski River, or south on the trail to create a loop route with the Cross Vermont Trail. While much of the Mouth of the Winooski River route uses existing multi-use paths, there are several places, especially on the eastern end, that follow busy urban streets. Parking is available in most parks along this route.
