This 0.8 mile, 12 feet wide gravel path parallels the Moose River and connects Bellevue Place near the Gorham Airport to US-2 west of the town center. Also know as the Multi-Modal Trail, the trail was designed and built to be used as an emergency automobile bypass to skirt the upper end of Gorham in the event a crisis like a flood or fire that could force a closure of the highways through Gorham’s Upper Village. It is a great place to walk and exercise pets. The grade is fairly level its whole length.
The path also connects to Coos Cycling Club's many miles of mountain biking trails on the east side of Pine Mountain which are also great single track hiking paths. More info and maps of the biking trails are available at the Coos Cycling Club's website.
