The main trail at The Dells follows an old road bed along Dells Pond and next to a small creek. The trail is wide and flat and perfect for an easy stroll. There are multiple picnic areas with grills along the way. The full trail is 0.8 miles, but there is also a shortcut across the small creek.
A short Nature Trail is being developed on the east end of the property as well.
The pond is home to many water birds: hooded mergansers, great blue herons, bitterns and others. Watch for beaver or otters along the shoreline. Listen for the shrill call of the ovenbird - "teacher, teacher, teacher" - or the rattle of a kingfisher. Watch for the flash of the red-winged blackbird among the cattails.
