The trail follows Cook Brook along the hillside, for a 0.2-mile loop with 70 feet of elevation change. It is marked by by paw print blazes. Where there are two paw print markers on one tree, the trail splits into the loop. Heading straight ahead and following the brook, the trail ascends the hillside with a couple of small switchbacks. It then almost immediately begins its decent back down the hill, encountering a few switchbacks toward the pond.
The town park also includes swimming at pond and a playground.
