The trail is a 0.6-mile loop. It has occasional roots and rocks and crosses old wood roads.
From the trailhead, the trail heads up to a junction on the far side of a bridge. At the junction, to the left the trail is steeper, while the trail to the right is a more gentle climb up the ridge. Follow the paw print blazes regardless of the direction you take from the junction.
Proceeding clockwise around the loop, the trail climbs steeply but not for very long, passing some boulders before hugging the ridgeline. The trail then passes into a hemlock grove where there is a picnic table. The trail continues through the wooded hillside, before descending back to the trail junction and then down to the trailhead.
The town of South Londonderry has a nice country store/deli, The Corner Market, where hikers can get provisions and sandwiches, and hang out on the front porch. Check their Facebook page for hours of operation.

The South Londonderry Free Library is located on Old School Street in South Londonderry, just off Main Street. Further up Old School Street is the Londonderry Town Office building, at 100 Old School Street, where the trailhead is located.
From the junction of VT-100 and Main Street, just north of the bridge over the West River, take Main Street south and go 0.2 miles to Old School Street. Turn left on Old School Street, pass the library, and continue 0.1 miles to the town hall on the right.
The trailhead is to the left of the shed garages on the town hall parking lot, indicated by a trail sign that says "Library Trail" and is marked with paw print blazes.
