Description

This is an off-road link between two dirt roads - Elm Street and Bragg Hill Road. The trail also connects with Wilder under the power line. The Elm Street to power line section is roughly parallel to the AT and the two trails form a loop returning to Elm Street.

Trailhead Information

1)  At Exit 13 off I-91, turn towards the village section of Norwich. Upon entering the village, take the first left onto Elm Street; follow for about 1 mile to the end of the road. Go past the AT kiosk and look for the Heyl Trail sign on your left at the end of the street. Parking near the trailhead is limited to a few vehicles along Elm Street. Parking is also available in Norwich village.

2) At Exit 13 off I-91, turn towards the village section of Norwich. Upon entering the village, take the second left onto Beaver Meadow Road; continue for about a half-mile to the second left, turning there onto Bragg Hill Road. Follow Bragg Hill Road for about 3/4 mile to a power line crossing. The trailhead sign is on the left just beyond the power line crossing. Park along the road in nearby widened areas.
