Hartness Park trails include both wide woods roads and narrower hiking paths. The trails are marked by colored blazes and numbered signposts. Plan your own route, or take one of these suggested loops:
The Blue Loop is a flat, 0.9-mile hike. Starting at the parking area off VT-143, the loop includes access to picnic tables and the top of a former ski jump.
The Red Loop includes some steep sections and covers most of the park. Its total distance is 1.7 miles, and can be accessed from Dell Road or the VT-143 parking area.
The Hilliard’s Trail Loop is a 0.7-mile hike. It includes large trees and ski jump sites. From the Dell Road entrance, take the red-blazed trail to the yellow blazed trail. Follow the yellow blazes to the end, then the red blazes back to the Dell Road access. The loop is easy, except for short steep sections on either end of the yellow trail, where the red trail climbs to meet it.
