Description

The Hapgood Pond trail begins in the Hapgood Pond day use area, either past the bathhouse, or near the entrance of the site and continues for 1 mile around the pond.  The trail follows a section of Flood Brook, at one point crosses Flood Brook, travels over a few small hills and winds through hardwoods as well as an impressive Hemlock stand.  The trail also crosses Hapgood dam which provides excellent views over Hapgood Pond and beyond to the ridge line of the Green Mountains and Peru Peak Wilderness. Please pay appropriate fees at self-service fee station.

Trailhead Information

From Route 7 in Manchester, take Route 11 east for approximately 7.5 miles, past the Route 11 and 30 junction.  Continuing east on Route 11, pass Bromley Ski Area and turn left onto Main Street into the town of Peru.  Turn left onto Hapgood Pond Road;

From Route 100 in Londonderry, take Route 11 west for about 7.5 miles and turn right onto Main Street into the town of Peru.  Take Hapgood Pond Road north (right) out of town;

–Drive about 1.5 miles north on Hapgood Pond Road and then turn left into Hapgood Recreation Area.
