Description

The natural setting surrounding Ball Mountain Lake can be enjoyed by all kinds of visitors, for a variety interests and abilities. The overlook area at the dam offers panoramic views to sightseers, photographers, and picnickers, including views of Stratton and Bromley Mountains. There are over 4 miles of trails for hikers to explore, following the west bank of the West River. On the north side of the dam, the trail continues connecting with Jamaica State Park.

Hikers can also visit Angel Falls, 1.3 miles from the trailhead at the dam. Angel Falls is a horsetail falls, splitting into two segments and dropping 25 feet over exposed granite ledges. Hikers can cool off in a pool at the bottom large enough for a refreshing dip. A stone bridge below the falls is a great vantage point for photographers.
