The trail begins at the Baby Flume Picnic Area. From the sign describing the geology of the Notch, a trail heads northeast, to the right from the Saguinary Ridge Trail. In less then a 0.1 mile it reaches the gorge carved out by Flume Brook. The falls tumble 18 feet over a set of three drops. There are additional smaller cascades and a pool further downstream.
Baby Flume is alternatively referred to as Dixville Flume or Flume Brook Cascade.
