The Allen Street property is a story of true grassroots conservation. At one time the property was proposed for a condominium development. The neighbors came together, many offering their own money, to purchase the property and deed it to the Town for conservation purposes.
The 12.5 acre property is a beautifully wooded property that provides a natural buffer along the tidal Wheelwright Creek. There is a small foot path that leads out to a point for beautiful views of the salt marsh along Wheelwright Creek. Turkey and songbirds are prevalent in the area and there are several unmarked fishing paths along the creek.

The entrance to the property is located between 25 and 27 Allen Street and is marked with a blue trail head marker (see images). Once you pass between the two homes, the wooded trail becomes apparent.
