Description

The Red Trail, which is double track, heads north from Rockrimmon Road through the West Kingston Town Forest. The singletrack White Trail connects to the Red Trail to make a scenic loop possible.

  • Stay on marked trails.
  • Hunting is allowed. Be aware of hunting seasons.
  • Dogs are welcome but must remain under the control of owners. Please carry a leash, leash any aggressive dogs, and pick up after your pet.
  • The following uses are NOT permitted:

    • Fires
    • Target shooting
    • Trapping
    • Wheeled motorized vehicles

Trailhead Information

From Kingston, head north on Main Street toward Cemetery Lane. Turn left on North Road, which turns into Beach Plain Road. Take a left on Fairview Drive, another left on Diamond Drive and a third left on Emerald Drive.

Rockrimmon Road, a dirt class VI road, starts at the intersection of Emerald Drive and Opal Drive. If concerned, you can park at this intersection and walk in. There is also parking available along Rockrimmon Road, closer to the trailhead.
