Description

This short, but popular trail is maintained by the Richmond Trails Committee. It follows the Winooski River north from the Volunteer Green through a magnificent cottonwood stand.

Other Information

Volunteer Green is Richmond's public park.  It has picnic tables, baseball fields, a playground, and hosts a weekly Farmers' Market in the summer.

Travel on Durable Surfaces
If you have to step off the trail, step onto a rock or soil. Avoid stepping on fragile vegetation.

Trailhead Information

Take I-89 South to Richmond exit, turn right after exit onto Route 2. In Richmond, turn right at light onto Bridge Street and head south. Parking is in the Volunteer Green Park, which is on the right, just before the bridge over the Winooski. The trail begins near the river's edge.
