Description

Oakland Town Forest is a conservation area managed for sustainable recreation purposes by the Exeter Conservation Commission. The trails are used primarily for hiking and mountain biking but allow any other type of non-motorized recreation. In the winter months, the trails are also used for snowshoeing and skiing, though they are not groomed. The uneven terrain contains numerous boulder and ledge outcrops. The mixed woodland is home to a variety of wildlife and includes a number of vernal pools and isolated wetlands.

Hunting in season within the Oaklands Town Forest is permitted unless otherwise posted. All visitors should wear orange for safety during hunting seasons.

Other Information

Leashed dogs under their owners control are permitted. As a courtesy to others and out of respect to your trail system, please carry in-carry out all trash and clean up dog waste.
