Description

From the winding single tracks of Twister and Cemetery Loop to the many wide open logging roads and farm tracks, this trail network offers plenty of variety. There are enough hills to get your heart pumping: the land is generally downhill from north to south, with steep drop-offs to the west of the Moore Loop, Ridgetop, and Williams Way trails.

With multiple well-interconnected loops, this trail network offers almost limitless opportunities for 30 to 90 minutes walks. With the connection to the West Road Conservation Area one could easily construct a half-day outing.

Trailhead Information

The only trailhead for this area with ample parking is at the end of the Quarry Road cul-de-sac, which is accessed off of Eastman Drive. Eastman Drive is off of Main Street, just north of the Town Office Building.

There are three trailheads on West Road, two of which connect to the West Road Conservation Area trail system. The eastern-most could accommodate one or two cars for parking.

One trailhead on Mill Shore Drive, just west of Shop Pond, could also accommodate one or two cars parking. Or you could park at Shop Pond and walk or ride the short way to the trail.

Finally there are several trailheads on Eagle Road and one on Governor's Island Road, none of which offer any parking.
