The Landon Farm is owned by Phelan and Kelsey O'Connor, who operate their business Pigasus Meats on the property. The 170-acre farm is comprised of approximately 100 acres of farm fields and 70 acres of woodland, consisting mostly of mixed hardwoods. The woodland is host to a low-impact public access trail, and is managed by South Hero Land Trust and Lake Champlain Land Trust.
Vermont Land Trust holds a conservation easement on the property, and Lake Champlain Land Trust holds an easement for a public trail, which they maintain in partnership with South Hero Land Trust. SHLT also runs a small gleaning garden at the trailhead.
Hours: Dawn to dusk
Dogs are welcome but must be leashed at all times.
Horseback riding is allowed, but horse-trailers are not allowed to park at the trailhead, so horseback riders must find an alternate location to park.
PLEASE NOTE: This trail is closed during rifle season every fall/winter. Please check season dates with the VT Department of Fish & Wildlife. The trail may be closed temporarily at other times, to allow farmers to perform essential farm or forestry activities.
