The King Arthur Trail provides a great way to travel off road from Mill Road to the Dresden Athletic Fields.
Trail sections nearest the King Arthur Flour Company were rerouted to tie in with landscaping, driveway, and store changes completed in fall 2012 as part of their expansion plans. This bark mulched section may not be suitable for riding a bike due to the less firm treadway; however, a short walk along the mulched trail, upslope from the driveway, will bring you to firm packed trail sections. The trail loop nearest Dresden Athletic Fields offers a pleasant retreat for walkers and riders interested in a short family hike within ear shot of the nearby playing fields.
You'll avoid Route 5 traffic and have the pleasure of walking, skiing, or riding (using a mountain bike during dry season) through pine and mixed woodlands to the playing fields.
If you are visiting the playing fields for a game, walk over to the trailhead kiosk and take a leisurely hike around the loop path nearest the fields or take a short hike to grab a snack at King Arthur Flour Company.
