Description

Several miles of foot, bike, horse, and ATV trails located a few miles southeast of Hinesburg village center. For mountain bikers, there are 18+ miles of singletrack for all levels of riding. Thanks to the efforts of the Hinesburg Scout Troop and extensive work by the mountain biking group, Fellowship of the Wheel, these forest trails offer something for almost everyone - for hiking, skiing, snowshoeing, or horseback. The forest also offers a well marked long circuitous loop – the Eagle’s Trail.

The Town Forest is marked by beautiful stands of firs, pines, and birches, as well as a mix of deciduous vegetation. The land is also the site of a number of old homesteads.

Other Information

The Hinesburg Town Forest is the Fellowship of the Wheel's most extensive trail project to date.

The Fellowship has designed and laid out trails that provide a healthy combination of beginner, intermediate, and advanced single-track riding. Some of the more advanced trails contain obstacles and free-ride type structures as options. Mountain bike users are strongly encouraged to join the Fellowship of the Wheel, who provides detailed maps of the trail network.
