Great Glen Trails' unique location in Pinkham Notch provides spectacular views up to the Great Gulf Wilderness and the Presidential Mountain Range. The trail network, open to skiing, snowshoeing, and fatbiking in winter, offers trails for the whole family and for all skill levels. There is an emphasis on easier trails, but with more advanced opportunities too for those looking to test themselves on something more demanding. 9 miles of trails are groomed daily for skating and classic skiing, and most trails are double tracked. Of the groomed trails, 5 miles are suitable for novice skiers; three miles of trails are rated intermediate; and there is a three-quarter mile trail that offers a challenge for the experienced skier. 8.5 miles of ungroomed backcountry trails explore the wooded landscape of the White Mountain National Forest.
Both the groomed and backcountry trails are open to skiing and snowshoeing. Fatbikes are allowed on the groomed trails, so long as the snow surface conditions will allow for safe, non-impactive biking. It is best to call ahead the morning of your visit to confirm the trails are suitable for fat-biking.
Equipment is available for rent, including skis and ski boots, snowshoes and snowshoe-specific boots, and fatbikes (including helmets). Lessons at the ski school are available for those needing a little help with their technique!
Dogs ARE allowed on trails on east side of NH-16; dogs are NOT allowed on trails on the west side of NH-16.
If fatbiking, both tires must be wider than 3.7 inches and tire pressure must be less than 10 psi, and helmets are required.
