Description

The 1.7-mile loop trail starts west of the parking lot next to the border crossing station. The first half mile is steep, rocky, and wet in sections before it turns left and drops down to the shore of the Lake. Upon reaching the water, turn either right or left to follow the loop trail around the Lake.  At the southern end of the pond, you'll cross a small stream that marks the very beginning of the Connecticut River! Continuing around the pond will bring you full circle back to the main trail leading back to US-3. This Preserve is managed by The Nature Conservancy, and is an excellent place for walking and observing wildlife. Camping, fires, pets, or wheeled vehicles are not permitted on the Preserve. Trail Tips

Plan Ahead and Prepare
Avoid hypothermia, even in warm weather, by limiting your sweat and exposure to cold water. Bring warm and dry clothes in case the shivers set in.

Trailhead Information
