The Boltonville Nature Trail explores the upland slope and riparian floodplain of the Wells River. It is part of the "Interpretive Farm Project" at the Al-len Farm. This trail was started as a way to offer an outdoor nature study area for the local schools and community. The Allen family has opened this trail on their land to give an opportunity for people to better understand the interrelationship of the farm, rivers, forests, wildlife habitat, and the community.
The Cross Vermont Trail on old Montpelier - Wells River Railbed parallels the nature trail, and continues to the east and west.
Boltonville Nature Trail is maintained by Cross Vermont Trail Association and Newbury Conservation Commission in cooperation with Al-len Farm.
