Description

Crescent Woods is a hidden natural area in Burlington's South End. This shady little ravine is all that remains of the natural portion of the Englesby Brook Watershed, which is almost entirely within densely populated Burlington. The trails begin off of Crescent Road by descending a staircase that is hard to see when passing by. The dirt trails start near the culvert that pipes the stream under the road and continue along the brook, occasionally forcing trail users to cross it via rocks, logs, or wet feet. The BPRW-owned portion of the ravine does not link up to other streets, so users should exit back out the staircase to Crescent Road after exploring the 3 acre park.

Dispose of Waste Properly
Dispose of solid human waste in a cathole 6-8 inches deep and at least 200 feet from water, camp, or trails. Don't forget to cover it up when you're done!

Trailhead Information

Park along Crescent Road and enter the natural area on the west side of the road by starting down the staircase.
