The mountain biking and hiking trails at Ascutney Trails offer over 30 miles of hand-built trails for all riders, from beginners to experts. Beginners should start from the Ascutney Outdoor Center while intermediate and advanced riders can choose either. The two trailheads can be connected through a long ride that traverses the mountainside. '
The trails offer a variety diverse and challenging terrain including rock gardens and bridges as well as flowy, bermed downhills. Check the Ascutney Trails website for recommendations on loops depending on your skill level.
All of the trails are open to hiking and running. The Ascutney Outdoors Trail is open to pedestrian use only above the intersection with the Norcross Trail. The Discovery Trail, an interpretive walking route featuring panels with information on the cultural and natural history of the area starts and ends at the Ascutney Outdoors Center. It follows parts of Lou's Loop, Last Mile and Wind Up.
Ascutney Trails connects to Mt. Ascutney State Park and the Weathersfield Town Forest offering a vast array of recreation opportunities on the flanks of Mt. Ascutney. Keep your dog on a leash at all trailheads and parking areas.
Be aware of the impact on others by having your dog on the trail. We want everyone to have a great trail experience.
Always maintain control of your dog and keep it within sight. Do not allow it to chase or disturb other animals or wildlife.
Bring along a poop bag, scoop your poop, and pack the bag out with you... Do not leave on the side of the trail.
As of 2021, Class 1 e-bikes are allowed on the trail system.

Ascutney Trails AssociationThe trails on the north side of Mt. Ascutney can be accessed by two trailheads.
Ascutney Outdoor Center: From Interstate 91, head west on VT-44. After the official Mt. Ascutney State Park, turn left on Ski Tow Road. Follow the road to the Ascutney Outdoors Center where you can park in the lot.
Town Forest Trailhead: Continue west on VT-44. Turn left on Coaching Lane and follow to the end where there is a small parking lot for the Windsor Town Forest.
